3″ Rockwool Cubes with Large hole




3″ Rockwool Cubes are a very popular hydroponics substrate due to the advantages they offer. They provide an inert media with a high level of aeration for the roots to develop in. Cuttings and seedlings that start life in rockwool blocks are easy transplant into larger cubes that are made with a hole to take them. 3″ Rockwool Cubes have a good water retaining ability meaning your plants are less likely to suffer from lack of water and nutrients. They are compatible with a wide range of hydroponic systems and are suitable for using with clay pebbles, in a drip irrigation system, for example. Rockwool also has the advantage of being very lightweight. No need to lug bags and bags of media about when you grow with it! Rockwool also has no nutritional value at all, meaning you have complete control over what nutrition your plants have access to.

What are the 3″ Rockwool Cubes made of?

All Rockwool is made by spinning molten rock into fine fibres and then moulding it into a range of shapes. Whether it is cubes, starter blocks or slabs, they are all made in the same way. Many commercial horticulture companies use rockwool in the intensive production of a variety of crops. Most crops that grow on the plant (rather than in the root zone) are suitable for rockwool. There has been great success in the growing of tomatoes cucumbers, melons, peppers, strawberries herbs and ornamental flowers all over the world.

Rockwool is ideal for using in Nutrient Film Technique, Flood and Drain as well as dripper systems. This is what makes them one of the most popular substrates for growers. As they are inert, you will need nutrients for hydroponic systems.
